Crab Locker VS Air Locking Differential

1. Function

* Their function is the same. When you need to switch the locker on, then the locker will lock the shaft axle of both side to transit the same traction to both of the wheels.

* Both Air locker and crab locker need to use the air compressor to pump the air to the locker.

2. Difference

*Their difference is that the seal housing assembly is different and the structure is a little different.

* The crab locker has no seal housing assembly. It solves the air locker’s air leaking problem of the seal housing assembly.

* The air locking differential’s seal housing assembly need to use O-ring (which material is rubber). The O-ring is easily warn out. This will lead that the air locking differential leak airs. In order to solve this kind of problem, the developer begin to use another structure of O-ring, which is called X-ring .X-ring structure is more reliable.

* The price of crab locker is more expensive.

E-locker VS Air Locking Differential/Crab Locker

1. Function

The function these locking differential is the same . When you switch the locking differential on, then the locker will lock the shaft axle of both side to transit the same traction to both of the wheels.

2. Difference

(1) The engine power is different .

Air locking differential and crab locker are air locking differential , they are powered by air.

E-locker is electricity locking differential .It is powered by electricity.

(2) The structure is different.

Note:

* For e-locker, when you switch the locker on, when you change the driving direction of the car, the e-locker will unlock automatically and lock again , it takes about 1/4 wheel time.

* E-locker suit for those places which are cold.

* Air locking differential suit for those places which are hot.

How to choose TRE e-locker/ TRE air locking / TRE crab locking differential?

1. According to your budgets.

2. According to your usage environment. If you use the locking differential in the mountain,  you when you climb and change the driving direction, the unlocking and locking of the e-locker maybe dangerous for you.

3. Air locking differentials are tested by the market for several years. You won’t make a mistake when you choose air locking differential.
